There is Power in Prayer

Prayer is foundational in our lives and ministry. 'By Prayer' we praise God, seek His direction, request resources and call upon the Holy Spirit to empower our ministries.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18

Prayer is not getting things from God, that is the most initial stage; prayer is getting into perfect communion with God; we tell Him what we know He knows in order that we may get to know it as He does.

Summer 2025 Prayer Focus & Reflection: Newcomers to Canada

Canada is one of the most multi-cultural countries in the world. One out of four people living in Canada is a first-generation immigrant. We celebrate the wisdom of God who has brought SIM workers from a variety of countries and backgrounds here. Their specialised cultural experiences and insights are helping the Canadian church reach their new neighbours more effectively. SIM currently has a total of 57 workers serving from coast to coast, building inroads for the gospel among marginalised and immigrant communities.

Canada Prayer Focus: Quebec

Quebec has the largest people group in North America unreached by the Gospel—around 99.3% of its population. Ninety-one percent of Québécois consider themselves Roman Catholic. But for the vast majority, Catholicism is cultural identity rather than a religious belief system. In a 2021 census, common-law relationships consisted of 42.7% of cohabitation compared with only 16.9% outside of Quebec. Fewer than 1% of the French-speaking population consider themselves evangelical Christians. Further, the province has more than 1,000 communities with no evangelical churches.

Global Prayer Focus: Trauma Healing - I Live Again Uganda

After more than two decades of civil war, Uganda is in the process of recovering. During this time, 1.3 million people were forced into IDP's (Internal Displacement Camps). An estimated 60,000 children were abducted and forced to become child soldiers. In 2006, the cessation of hostilities agreement was signed by the LRA and the government of Uganda. There remains great need.

With a four-focus approach of Trauma Healing, Faith-Based Support, Resettlement, and Community Development, ILA (I Live Again) Uganda is right there, addressing these needs.
