There is Power in Prayer

Prayer is foundational in our lives and ministry. 'By Prayer' we praise God, seek His direction, request resources and call upon the Holy Spirit to empower our ministries.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Partner With Us In Prayer

Prayer is not getting things from God, that is the most initial stage; prayer is getting into perfect communion with God; we tell Him what we know He knows in order that we may get to know it as He does.

Prayer of the Worker

SIM Canada serves as a generalist missions organization, partnering with believers who are called to a wide variety of ministries. Examples include urban and rural outreach, discipleship, prison work, medical care, agricultural training, community development, and many more sectors. In Canada and around the world, our call is serve where Christ is least known, in whatever and wherever that may lead. . This broad scope allows SIM to respond to diverse needs and to share the gospel in many contexts. However, working across such a wide range of ministries also brings unique challenges. Missionaries must navigate different cultures, languages, and ministry models while staying united around one purpose: proclaiming Christ and making disciples. We must balance practical service with gospel proclamation, maintain doctrinal clarity amid diversity, and provide meaningful support to workers serving in very different environments. This prayer card invites you to give thanks for God’s faithful guidance and provision through SIM’s global network and to pray for continued faithfulness to the gospel, spiritual dependence on God, and unity and fruitfulness in mission.

The Workers Are Few

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” ~Matthew 9:35–38 (NIV) Jesus’ words in Matthew 9:35–38 echo powerfully across SIM Canada’s ministry today. Around the world and here in Canada, people and communities are in desperate need for meaning and healing - longing for hope, discipleship, and gospel presence. SIM Canada workers serve in diverse contexts - healthcare, theological education, business development, community outreach, digital mission, youth ministry, support roles, and many more - yet the needs continue to outpace the workers available. From unreached people groups to rapidly growing urban centres, from local diaspora communities to global ministry teams needing reinforcement, the harvest is indeed plentiful. As SIM Canada seeks to send, equip, and support more workers, we join Jesus’ command to pray earnestly for God to raise up servants who will go with compassion, courage, and the good news of His kingdom. Will you prayerfully consider Jesus’ words in verse 38, “Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”? Lord, teach us to number our days.

Prayer for our Third Culture Kids

David C. Pollock’s research (alongside Ruth Van Reken) on Third Culture Kids consistently shows that globally mobile children develop a distinct identity formation process shaped by repeated cultural transitions, belonging shifts, and relational disruption. Their work in Growing Up Among Worlds and related TCK scholarship highlights that TCKs are not just “internationally exposed children,” but individuals whose developmental environment is fundamentally different from monocultural peers. In light of this reality, we turn our hearts toward our TCKs in prayer, asking God to meet them in every place they call home. We acknowledge this unique start to life and commit wholeheartedly to pray for our TCKs.

Urgent request for my young niece as we have just learned she has cancer; we don’t know how advanced it is. I am pleading to Jesus… for Your mercy, for Your healing hand to touch her and to stop the cancer in its tracks. Protect her life and let Your love surround her as she needs You more than ever... and that she feels Your presence every moment. We are holding on to faith.
